What is "All Gen Gamers"?
All Gen Gamers strives to break away from your typical video game podcast by offering a structure that does not follow traditional rules. We want to provide a listening experience as though you were eavesdropping in on a conversation between a couple of gamers talking about the games they love to play. Every week Pete, Gamester, and Johnny talk about Retro and Modern video games including anything from systems such as the Tubro Grafx, Neo Geo, Genesis, SNES, NES, to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, and so many more! We pride ourselves as unbiased video game enthusiasts and collectors of the hobby. Each week we bring on a new 4th guest host to keep the experience as fresh as possible for our listeners, no episode is bound to be the same!
Why do a Podcast?
People have told us for awhile we need to collaborate more, and doing so in videos is not only hard to arrange, but it is also a whole lot more time consuming. A podcast not only allows us to reach another form of media, but also to bring our listeners weekly content that would not be possible any other way. Not only that but we really enjoy talking about games together, so why not record it is a podcast and share it with others?
When do you record and release episodes?
We try and record episodes 1 week ahead of schedule, that way if something comes up and a guest can't make it, we have ample time to get someone else or reschedule. This also gives plenty of time to get the show edited properly. So sometimes we will record an episode on say a Wednesday, but it won't actually be released until NEXT Wednesday.
Can I be a guest host?
We would really love to have everyone on as a guest host, but it's just not possible. Head on over to the forums and chat with us there. If we ever need to fill the guest spot in the future if one of our lined up guests has technical issues or can't make it, we may just try and get in contact with you, you never know!
I have a question or suggestion for the show, can can I contact you guys?
If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions for the show please head over to our forums where you can not only talk to us, but talk with other listners as well! You may also contact us individually through a PM on YouTube if so desired.
The audio quality gets really weird at times, why is that?
Please keep in mind that we record using Skype, and we have guests on from all over the world, so at times connection issues get in the way and may cause voice break ups, audio cut outs, and the likes. We do our best to edit the show before it goes live to the best of our ability.
How can I have a question of mine read on the show?
Once again, the forums are the absolute best way to do this and get in contact with us about the show. There will be a topic clearly marked for you to ask us questions for next weeks show. We can only select a few questions per episode, so ask a good question and it may be used on the next show!
What do you use to record/create this Podcast?
First, we use Skype to record which is free to download. We then use a paid version of Pamela Voice Recorder to record the audio of the Skype call. We then hand the MP3 file over to Jason Heine, our podcast editor who uses his magic to clean up and edit the show in his studio (from episode 6 and on). We use iTunes to distribute the podcast, which is powered by our Feedburner RSS feed. If you have any techincal questions please Google "creating a podcast" for more help.
In terms of equipment, all 3 hosts use a professional "Blue USB Microphone" which is the absolute best and most affordable USB microphone available for podcasting at the moment.
I still have another question that was not answered here.
We can't stress using the forums enough, please use this as the main way of getting in contact with us with any questions you may have. Your question may already be answered on there too, so check it out!
